Bass=Win – Breaks V/A (Album Sampler)

Terry Hooligan and Rico Tubbs have been at the helm of their esteemed imprint Bass=Win for 10 years now and to celebrate that very milestone, they’ve compiled what can only be described as one of the best Breaks compilation albums we’ve ever had the pleasure of listening too so that they can pay homage to a scene they’ve each been a part of for over two decades.

To show their love for Breakbeat, they gone all out on their new compilation album ‘Breaks’ by bringing us no less than 15 of the biggest and most badass tracks you can lay your hands on! 10 of the tracks have been handpicked from the mighty Bass=Win vault, which includes some of the label’s highlights from artists like Mafia Kiss, Mij Mack, Mr. Beeb and of course, Rico and Terry too.

The other 5 tracks to be found on ‘Breaks’ are the ones featured on the album sampler above and these beauties are brand new and exclusive tracks that demand your attention! The first of these is BreaksMafia’s monster remix of ‘Bass Crazy’ by Atomic Hooligan, which is followed by a remix of equal intensity by Ben & Lex of ‘Red Sun’ by Rico Tubbs. Future Wildstyle is up next with ‘Soul On Fire’ and if you were feeling the filthiness of the first two tracks, there’s plenty more to be found here! The next track is my pick of the bunch and comes from Circa 92’s and his remix of Rico Tubbs’ ‘Sweet Time’. This Jungle infused Breaks roller will stop you in your tracks immediately, just so you can comprehend the greatness of what you’re hearing. Outselect completes the exclusive business with his own track ‘Don’t Booty Move!’ which may seem a strange title when you listen to it because clearly, booty’s will move when this is played, there’s is no doubt about that!

When you get round to buying ‘Breaks’ you’ll notice that Terry Hooligan has provided a mix of this album, which in itself is something worth having in your music collection. All the tracks can be found on the link below to buy the album So to the fans who never stopped loving Breakbeat, and to those who have been looking for the kind of music to rekindle their love for Breakbeat, get your listening gear around this lot!
