Over a 3 track EP, Beolost takes us on a sub heavy dreamscape with whimsical vocals, airy and ethereal synths dipped in sublime melancholy and snippets of amen breaks. There is a strong sense of quirky Britishness with Thompson Twin style vocals on the rumbling title track. ‘Wannabe’ sounds like London Elektricity slowing down the DnB to a serene pace with ambient sonics and crunchy breaks. ‘People’ charts a futuristic course for R&B with cut up breaks, swirling strings and a mixture of Mary J vox and New Jack City raps. Quite simply brilliant.
