Mancunian, Bhrisc debuts on Rising High Records with an EP that embodies the legacy and sound of the seminal label
From the ambient sunrise sounds of ‘As It Dawned On Me’ to the eerie, hypnotic 90s Techno Trance style ‘From Nowhere ‘, Bhrisc digs deep into his own cultural legacy and that of the Rising High label itself. The tracks on this EP are strongly influenced by the sound of Rising High’s classic 1993 VA ‘World Techno Tribe’ and the ‘Reactivate’ series of compilations.
Indeed ‘Pushing Reality’ bears a passing resemblance to the spooky Illuminatae ‘Tremora Del Terra’ and even more so to mid 90’s ‘Age Of Love’ era Jam & Spoon.
‘Resonance’ brings things right up to the present with a sparse, dark, industrial slice of driven techno with a deep, melodic touch.
