Big Fat Mama Beats – Food Of The Gods LP (V/A)

If there are actually any gods out there and it just so happens that they need to be fed, get this new Breakbeat compilation LP from Big Fat Mama Beats in em and the world will be at peace for evermore!

All of the artists involved on this new LP, Pulpfusion, Mechanical Pressure and Adrenalinez, are all huge fans of the of H.G Wells novel ‘Food Of The Gods’ and the album has been titled as such because it represents their take on what the soundtrack should sound like in today’s world.

On the album are 9 tracks of the heavyweight Breaks variety and range from an extremely meaty 100bpm, through to feverish 134bpm. The tracks that have been selected for the LP all have a slightly twisted or spacey edge to them which goes hand in hand with the story line of the novel. It’s an all killer, no filler kind of deal here, but one tune that stands out for me is Pulpfusion’s epic Underworld-esque tune ‘I Want Your Soul’. It’s one of those tracks that you’ll hear in ten years time and still go crazy about. Breakbeaters around the world, ‘Food Of The Gods’ is an LP you cannot afford to miss!
