Sound Exhibitions Records is a vinyl-only label operating out of Italy. It’s a new one to us and having had a good scout through a good chunk of it’s back catalogue, we highly recommend checking it out, especially if high-grade Funk and Disco on wax is your thing.
Although it’s our first introduction to what this excellent label is all about, it’s latest release comes from someone who is no stranger to us here at LSM, Jayl Funk, and on this occasion, Jayl brings with him two brand new tracks on his superb “Raise Your Hands” EP.
Beginning with the title track, Jayl lays down funky guitars and horns over funky midtempo drums and a smokin’ hot groove and then teams up with someone else who is no stranger to Funk lovers out there, one Georges Perin who, with his slick soulful tones, only adds another layer of supreme quality to a track that is already oozing plenty. “Love Time” follows and this delightful Disco-driven groove gives us more funky guitars, strings and a stunning female vocal that just adds to the positivity it pumps out.
