After years of touring, djing and working together, Breakbeat legends and good friends Lee Rous from Plump DJs, Martin Reeves aka Krafty Kuts and Aston Harvey from The Freestylers decided back in 2020 that with their skills sets, various styles, eclectic tastes and strong bonds, they should join forces under their DJ alias King Of The Beats. For many, it’ll not be too hard to imagine just how good things sound when these guys step behind the decks together but for those who might be wondering, get stuck into their brand new mixtape that’s loaded with plenty of new bits and pieces with lots of familiar twists and turns for the avid Breakbeat lover to enjoy!
King Of The Beats have already played a handful of streams together during the lockdown times and they’ve gone on to play a handful of shows since news broke of their new venture. The plan is to play many more shows in the future too after the announcement of a new night starting this April at the Water Bear venue in Brighton under the same name. On the 16th of April, Lee, Martin and Aston will be supported on the night by Future Flex and Shillin and if you want to go, get your tickets by Clicking Here. If you see King Of The Beats at a venue near you or on a festival stage this summer, go see, go dance and I promise you the best of times will be had!
