45 Live Records is a Bristol-based label that has been set up to deliver the dopest beats on the bloc and celebrate the small, yet mighty 45rpm 7″ vinyl. With classic boom-bap flavoured Hip Hop being the main focus of 45 Live’s output, you can also expect to hear things getting pretty funked up too! The roll call of artists that have released music on the imprint isn’t too shabby either as it’s back catalogue is made up of music by Boca 45, Aeon Seven, Christian Madden, The Nextmen, Andy Cooper & DJ Format and Outlaw Posse.
Another duo to have had music released on the label are Brooklyn based M-Tri & DJ Leecy T who return with their second single on 45 Live ‘Palo Santo’. A super solid funky bassline and crisp drums will immediately grab your attention and when M-Tri & DJ Leecy T set to it masterfully trading raps, you’ve got at Hip Hop jam that’ll kick-it on the dancefloor no sweat!
On the B-side of this must-have slice of vinyl is a complete rework of ‘Palo Santo’ by Aeon Seven, who ships in wah-wah guitar, organ stabs, his own extremely tight cuts and scratches and a whole new funky groove on a very impressive from-the-ground-up rework.
