Word had been out that Brighton’s legendary Breakbeat label Against The Grain was on a comeback and we’re pleased to say it is all now official, the Brighton-based imprint headed up by Skool of Thought and Krafty Kuts is back to deliver A-grade dancefloor material for your dancing pleasure! Things could not reignite in a more spectacular fashion either because they’ve only got those Breakbeat legends Plump DJs to drop their brand new track Gotcha to get the ball rolling. If you’ve loved what you’ve heard from the Plumps over the last few years but wanted a bit more of that familiar funk and groove they used to pack into their tracks, good news, both of the elements are back and back in a big way! It’s rocketed its way right to the top of my ‘tracks I’d most like to hear in a festival field this summer’ list and I’m sure many of you will be adding it to yours too.
Against The Grain already has more new music waiting to go with releases from LOWCO and another from the Plumps that are due to drop in the not too distant future and with more new music coming from Mattix and the label guv’nor’s, times a looking very rosy indeed for us Breakbeat fans!
