Private Caller-History In The Making EP

It’s ‘History In The Making’ with Private Caller’s new EP on Hardcore Energy.

Private Caller make their second appearance on the Hardcore Energy imprint with a 4 track EP of Hardcore Rave infused Bass n’ Breaks.

Things kick off in brisk fashion with the Footwork/DnB/Breaks slammer ‘Helter Skelter (2020 Lockdown Mix).’ The voice of a rave MC announces a bout of swinging 2 stepping Jungle Breaks, rippin’ n’ rumblin’ Jungle bass and a volley of hooverlicious stabs that could indeed be blasting out of the sound rig at a Helter Skelter rave circa 93.

‘Backwards’ combines the rumble of early Jungle with 91/92 Hardcore Rave heavy on the dark moody strings, ‘Bombscare’ style riffs and a food for thought vocal sample no doubt from one of the rave pioneers themselves. Throw in a mid section of angry hoovers and the walls are already dripping!

‘Bring That Back’ takes a trip to Belgium, stops off at Reinforced Records circa 1991, invites some MCs to the stage for a sound burial and supplies a soundtrack of rage filled ‘ardcore combined with super crisp 2020 production chops. Listen carefully and you can hear bleeps just like those in Shut Up & Dance ‘Lamborghini.’

‘History In The Making (Fantazia Mix)’ opens with a Call and Response from the MC, jagged 303 acid, the timeless ‘Hot Pants’ break as used by Awesome 3, a Lennie De Ice ‘We Are IE’ influenced riff and some pure bass n’ bleeps a la 1991 to round off this tight package. Essential raving material. Top one, nice one, get sorted.
