Sucka Timmy and DJ B-Side have been working under their SuckaSide guise once again and after plying us with some super-solid Hip Hop re-edits in their Quick N Dirty EP series, they’re here with the first volume of their brand new Quick N Funky EP series.
As the title suggests, things are to get quite a bit funkier with this new series and the duo have not messed about in picking some true legends of the Funk world for their first five re-edits on volume one. Things kick-off with an easy-going and brass-tastic downtempo Breaks twist on The J.B’s Giving Up Funk For Food and in keeping with the free-and-easy vibe, they follow that one up with a groove and brass-ladened re-edit of Tommy Stewart‘s Bump And Hustle Music.
With a more noticeable kick to the drums and an increase in tempo, their hot-steppin’ Maceo Parker re-edit has clearly been created for the Parrty and to keep the dancing feet happy, along comes their extremely-classy spin on Fonk You by Sly Johnson.
Whereas the first four tracks can be purchased individually, should you so wish, the final track is a bonus one that can only be owned when you buy the full package and when you’re hit with the uplifting and sunshine vibes that are flooding out of their re-edit of Funkadelic‘s You’ll Like It Too, you’ll know the only thing to do is bag them all!
