That’s Not An Edit returns with another 27 free tracks of solid Aussie gold on volume 12 of its ongoing self-titled album series!
The merest sniff of a new episode of That’s Not An Edit from the Australian based imprint always brings great excitement to the ward because having already blogged plenty of the previous compilations, we already know that the music coming our way is going to be damn good and volume 12 is yet another offering of Funk, Soul, Hip Hop and Disco re-edits that does not disappoint!
As is always the case, these albums celebrate the vibrant music scene down under by bringing us an all-star lineup of producers exclusively from the label’s homeland. Some of those producers who have chipped in with a track to make this album such an entertaining event includes Groovescooter, who has the funk and horns firing on all cylinders with his classy mashup Tex Arse Disco Oil (I.D’s of the two tracks used to be confirmed), Soul Solicitor‘s serving up a soul-stompin’ edit of Don Downing‘s 1974 classic Dreamworld, Caratgold‘s got a sublime and super-smooth edit of Lovely Night For Dancing by the late, great Bill Withers on his hands, friend of the blog, Pecoe, is about to turn your smile up to 11 with his Funky Breaks edit of Wrap It Up by the brilliant Sam & Dave and Joah takes us on a far-out trip with his spin on the Psych Rock classic The Real Thing by legendary Australian singer/songwriter Russell Morris.
Hats off to all of the producers and That’s Not An Edit for once again delivering so many great tracks and the generosity shown for making them all available to download for free.
