V/A – Paradise Lounge (Breakbeat Paradise)

Breakbeat Paradise is signing off its summer with its latest compilation Paradise Lounge. Made up of 7 tracks from regular contributors and a new name to look out for, the sun-kissed selection of sounds will evoke memories made this summer and help them live long in the mind to ward off any sadness that may head your way when the darker nights come rolling in.

Kicking things off with the rowdiest tune on the comp is Boydex and Crash Party with their b-boy-inspired breaks jam Rescue Me. Taking a step down in intensity but with one eye still on the dancefloor, Bright Idea then brings the bump and groove with Fun At The Disco.

From here on out, the music is far more suited to those late nights around the campfire or fire pit. The first of the smooth grooves on offer comes from Pecoe and his bassy and deep-fried funk joint Need A Friend. Jayl Funk follows and after infusing all of the essences of summer into his soulful track, he presents us with the blissful She Is Hot. Gramophone Soul is up next and his easy-rollin’ funky breaks tune Trouble will leave you feeling like you have no troubles. Priceless! LROY flexes his boom bap credentials next with his funky and brass-toting Soul Break. Ending the comp is the aforementioned new name on BBP’s talent-rich roster. KaKaow is a producer who loves to use live instruments to compose his funky concoctions and after listening to his guitar and sax heavy track Shimmer, it’s clear he is very much one to keep an eye on!
