V/A – We Love Jalapeno! VOL. 2 (Jalapeno Records)

Back in 2018, Jalapeno Records released the first of its We Are Jalapeno compilation albums to celebrate the work of all the amazing artists that make up its eye-popping and jaw-dropping roster. Here in 2020, the imprint returns with volume 2 and whilst it’s celebrating it’s rostered artists in all their glory once again, it’s also delivering 20 tracks of the very best feel-good Funk, Soul and Breakbeat on the planet for free! We’re absolutely certain that news will be greatly welcomed and appreciated at a time where things are tough both mentally and in the pocket for many because of the predicament the world finds itself in currently. Added together with the first album, a combined total of 39 uplifting and day-making tunes can be downloaded so that they’re yours forever and they’re quick and easy to get at as when you need them.

When it comes to the music on We Are Jalapeno! Vol. 2, we’re served it with varying levels of heat so that there is something for everyone to enjoy. If you prefer a sound that’s gently spiced, you’ll enjoy a smooth selection of tracks like Aldo Vanucci‘s – I Think I’m Gonna Make It feat. Amie J, Izo Fitzroy‘s – Reckoning, Lack Of Afro‘s remix Drive Me Wild by Alexa Coley, Gizelle Smith‘s – Ruthless Day and Dr Rubberfunk‘s – Bombay Bossa.

If it’s a bit more of a kick that you’re after, listen out for heaters like Smoove & Turrell‘s – Have Love, All Good Funk Alliance‘s – Get The Pieces, AOTOA‘s – Come On People, Flevans‘ – Who’s Got Me and Featurecast‘s – Ego Tripping feat. Farina Miss.

For those that like all of the heat and even to the point of blowing your head off, you’re more than catered for with scorchers like The Allergies‘ – Hold You Close, Max Sedgley‘s – Something Special, The Beekeepers‘ – Spelling Bee feat. Emskee and Skeewiff‘s – Cruise Control

If what you’ve heard on We are Jalapeno! Vol. 2 has blown you away, you’ll more than likely be pleased to hear that Jalapeno’s back-catalogue is huge and it’s also a label that continues to release music on the regular from the immense talent it has on its book, which is something we can only thank them for.
